Client: Olympic Delivery Authority and Capita Symonds
Role: Project Arboricultural expert, operating as quality manager directly reporting upon delivery of tier 2 contractors’ services and products (trees and their planting) throughout the North Park and public realm including Eton Manor.
Responsibilities: To assess all (3,000) new trees and their associated planting techniques for their species, condition, location and quality; to identify any defects, make recommendations for remedy and prepare detailed reports for ODA consideration.
Duration and services provided: Sept. 2010 to June 2012.
All tree stock surveyed three times, fifteen reports submitted, identified several previously unknown (to Capita Symonds) defects (diseases and disorders).
Client: Bam Ferrovial Kier Partnership
Role: Project Arboricultural expert, reporting to client upon all implications of construction upon trees; advising upon tree management, legal aspects and consideration and negotiations with Local Planning Authority and tree owners. Prepared detailed specifications for tree management and protection.
Responsibilities: To ensure client was informed of all implications and to prepare arboricultural management reports for submission to tree owners and Local Planning Authority.
Duration and services provided: June 2012 – March 2015. Provision of on-site tree protection and preservation advice. Successfully negotiated with Council and tree owners to ensure trees would be effectively protected and that works upon the grout shaft could commence.
Client: Viridis Real Estate
Role: Project arboricultural expert, advise the client team upon design and implications upon legally protected trees; assessment of tree quality and landscape contribution; production of detailed arboricultural impact assessment reports for submission with major projects presented to both Local Planning Authority and Mayor’s Office.
Responsibilities: To advise the design team upon how to maximise floor space and integrate proposed develop into the landscape; liaison with LPA and third parties in respect of evolving designs and tree and landscape protection.
Duration and services provided: June 2012 – September. 2018. Pre-application arboricultural assessments, reports and meetings with DR Panels and LPA; preparation of responses to successfully improve design capabilities within the development envelope.
